Judaica Collection

Ceremonial art in past and present

Our Judaica Collection consists of about 800 objects, including individual outstanding ceremonial objects from Frankfurt‘s Judengasse in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, the blossoming of Jewish cultic objects in Frankfurt. The ceremonial items from the early 20th century are of particular value. These were made by the Frankfurt Jewish silverworks of Lararus Posen Witwe and the brothers Leo and Felix Horovitz. In recent years the Judaica Collection has been expanded to include contemporary ceremonial items made by artists. This new focal point is to be expanded in the future.
