The collection area "Documents and Photographs" or "Archive" includes original written testimonies of Jewish life, especially personal documents such as diaries, notebooks, letters and greeting cards, photo and memorial albums; works such as manuscripts, speech drafts and historical books; as well as business and official documents such as official correspondence, identity cards and certificates. The archive consists primarily of bequests of Jewish individuals and families, collections of materials on Jewish topics or personalities, and numerous individual documents. The chronological focus is on documents from the 19th and 20th centuries.
